New from Acer : Aspire One

Aspire One the fairly light and lean laptop from Acer with weighing 2 pounds and measuring 9.8 by 6.7 by 1.14 inches, powered with Intel's 1.6-GHz Atom processor, 8GB hard drive and 512MB of RAM. Aspire One with the $400 have Linpus Linux Lite inside and, not Windows XP. If you like XP it will cost around $600 and it will have an 80GB hard disk and 1GB of RAM.

How to change the screen resolution in Kubuntu

Kubuntu on an IBM T20 (700 mhz/384MB/12GB) have two big problems

1) The installer insisted on setting the display to 1280x1024. The solution is you need to the xorg.conf file to change the resolution into 1024x768.

2) The usual problem with a Wifi card. The card is Broadcom-based, you need to the fwcutter package to make the Wifi card works

How to change Kubuntu Desktop into Server

If you have kubuntu 7.10 Desktop and want to make it server without reinstall the system then you need to install the server kernel, install the services you want your server to run (e.g. mail, web, db ... whatever) and remove desktop applications you don't need. Better if you installing the latest server edition. It is LTS afaik. You can always put kubuntu-desktop on there later with:
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
